Tips for Caring for your Scleral Lenses
1. If the lens drops on the countertop or floor, the Scleral Lens needs to be cleaned
with Tangible Clean or Biotrue.
2. Tough spots can be cleaned with a Q-Tip and Tangible Clean or Biotrue when
necessary
3. Read the instruction on the Clear Care box. RED CAP ALERT! That red cap means
you should never put CLEAR CARE® or CLEAR CARE® PLUS Solution directly in or
around your eyes.
4. Plungers should be cleaned with hot water and soap and allowed to air dry.
5. Do not modify the recommended protocols without consulting your doctor.
6. Short-cuts may save money, but may also result in ineffective cleaning or
disinfection. This could damage your lenses and lead to potentially blinding
infection of your eyes.
7. Never use tap water with your Scleral Contacts
8. Do not sleep in your Scleral Lenses.
9. Replace your lens case every time you open a new bottle of cleaning solution to
avoid microbial contamination.
10. Do not swim or shower while wearing Scleral Contacts.
11. Tangible Hydra-PEG coating is permanently bonded to the lenses. However, use
of incompatible cleaners, overly vigorous rubbing during cleaning, use of tap
water for rubbing or rinsing, and storing lenses dry will wear down the coating.
