Insertion and Removal Devices
We recommend to use plungers (aka DMV) to assist with the insertion and
removal of your Scleral Lens. These are specialized suction cups with handles.
They have been used for decades have become the industry standard for
patients around the world for specialty contact lenses. The cup securely grasps
the contact lens, providing easy removal, insertion and centering functions.

Caution
1. Plungers contain natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions.
Independent laboratory resting find no Antigenic proteins in this material
though.
2. Should the lens resist removal from the eye with a plunger, release the
plunger cup by squeezing the handle to reverse this suction.
3. Consider alternative insertion and removal methods if you experience the
above cautions.
Handling Your Scleral Lens
Just prior to handling the lenses, it is important that you wash your hands. The
soap that you use needs to be free of lanolin, lotion, or perfume. After washing
your hands, we recommend drying them with a lint-free towel. Before applying
or after removing, always inspect the lens for any defects, scratches or deposit
build up. Never wear a defective lens.
