During the First Two Weeks
GVSS gently and slowly changes the curvature of the cornea. As a result,
the improved vision is not immediate. Vision gradually improves and lasts
longer and longer each additional day of wearing your retainers. In certain
cases, the doctors give patients daily soft contact lenses to correct your
daytime vision until you achieve vision correction all day with GVSS wear.
This process varies patient to patient but the average time for full GVSS
visual correction is 1-2 weeks.
Other normal occurrences during this time include mild foreign body
sensation while wearing the retainers, mild dryness and slight eyelid
crusting upon waking, and glare and halos at night. For most patients,
these symptoms dissipate within the first month. Review this booklet or
speak to the doctors on tips for your best experience during this time.
