Before You Apply GVSS Retainers
Handling GVSS Retainers
Just prior to handling the retainers, it is important that you wash your
hands. The soap that you use needs to be free of lanolin, lotion, or
perfume. After washing your hands, we recommend drying them with a
lint-free towel. Before applying and after removing, always inspect the
lens for any defects, scratches or deposit build up. Never wear a defective
retainer lens.
In most cases, your retainers will have different colors. A gReen lens color
is for your Right eye; a bLue lens color is for your Left eye.
Removal Device
We recommend to use a plunger (aka DMV) to assist with the removal
of your GVSS retainers. These are specialized suction cups with handles.
They have been used for decades and have become the industry standard
for patients around the world for specialty contact lenses. The cup
securely grasps the retainer lens, providing an easy removal technique.

Caution
Plungers contain natural rubber latex which may cause allergic reactions.
Independent laboratory testing found no antigenic proteins in this
material though. Should the lens resist removal from the eye with a
plunger, release the plunger cup by squeezing the handle to reverse this
suction. Consider alternative removal methods if you experience the
above cautions.
